Whether you want a refresher of the basics or are looking for new and different ways to manage and lead others in your organization, this interactive one-day workshop helps supervisors to grow their management and leadership skills fast.
This Management and Leadership Skills for Supervisors is designed to equip you with the practical skills and strategies that are needed to more effectively manage and lead your people.
Participants will learn and begin to master:
- How to calmly and proactively work with difficult employee situations
- The ability to communicate with employees who see things differently than you do
- Working with employee attendance, behavior and performance problems
- Having Performance Improvement Discussions with their employees
In preparation for this program, it is recommended that attendees read the book Discipline Without Punishment by Dick Grote.
Presenter - Andrew Sanderbeck
Andrew is a respected expert presenter and consultant for libraries and library organizations on critical people skills including managing others, communication more effectively and improving customer service and the customer experience. He has worked with public and academic libraries for more than 20 years.

This project is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Florida Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.
For FY2024-25, 75% of total costs for TBLC Regional Continuing Education ($223,959) is supported with federal government funds (LSTA grant funds); 25% of this program ($74,744) is financed with state government money. The total budget of the project is $298,703.
