Intermediate Cataloging: Subject Analysis Online
Gain the knowledge and skills needed to effectively categorize and organize resources in a library or information system. Explore the principles and techniques of subject analysis, including the application of standardized subject headings and thesauri. Attendees need to have an introductory understanding of classification and experience with cataloging materials.
Presenter: Amanda Sprochi - Cataloger of all things rare, digital, and print and data janitor at Ellis Library at the University of Missouri in Columbia. I have been the Medical Library Association’s representative (6 years) to the American Library Association’s Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access and have taught cataloging courses at the Mizzou School of Information Science & Learning Technologies. I was a member of the RSC+ Committee, working on the RDA 3R Project and chaired the Fictitious Entities Working Group. Ask me anything about cataloging or metadata!

Grant Information
This project is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Florida Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.
For FY2024-25, 75% of total costs for TBLC Regional Continuing Education ($223,959) is supported with federal government funds (LSTA grant funds); 25% of this program ($74,744) is financed with state government money. The total budget of the project is $298,703.
