Media Training: PR and Communication Skills for Library Leaders Online
People who enter library leadership roles come from a variety of backgrounds. Most have advanced degrees and years of experience working in a library. Some bring experience from other industries and professions. However, one important skill that is not often taught in libraries or library school is how to serve as a spokesperson for your library.
Join us for a one hour webinar that will cover the following topics:
• The meaning of public relations and why it matters to libraries.
• How to position your library in a way that is meaningful to your audiences.
• How to create and gather key messages about your library.
• How to prepare yourself (or your boss) for public speaking and media interviews.
• How to follow up after the appearance.
